Dear HKCBA members and friends,

 

I would like to personally welcome you to our newly revamped website. Whether you are a corporate professional or entrepreneur working in Canada with operations in Asia; an Asian company or investor looking for opportunies in Canada, the HKCBA provides a great forum for networking and information exchange.

 

For the past 30 years, the HKCBA has been working continuously to promote Hong Kong-Canada bilateral trade. Our milestone anniversary this year is a great opportunity to review our past accomplishments and look forward to greater successes.

 

Vancouver was one of the first HKCBA sections founded in 1984 and grown to become a key organization within the local business community over the years. The increased focus on Canadian trade and investment with Hong Kong and Asia in the 80s and 90s resulted in the need to develop closer ties between the two regions. As a result, our organization was able to use this opportunity to provide a forum for our members and the business community to discuss trade issues, exchange international business best practices and promote bilateral trade policies. Today, the HKCBA is Hong Kong's largest and most active overseas trade association.

 

The HKCBA would not have been as successful without the support of our members and our strategic partners, including the members of our Hong Kong Family (comprised of a number of government and not-for-profit organizations as well as businesses based in Hong Kong).The HKCBA Vancouver Section will be celebrating its 30th anniversary with a series of events intended to highlight our core values: Networking and engagement; information exchange; and celebrating the success of Canadian companies which have successfully expanded to Hong Kong and Asia. With a reinvgorated strategy, we are pleased to present a revamped events program as well as new services to members.

 

Furthermore, we were pleased to host annual Hong Kong Connection Gala Dinner on March 14, one of the top five must attend business events in Vancouver. During the gala, we had the honour to announce the winner of the inaugural Hong Kong-Canada Business Achievement Awards (a joint endeavor between the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office and the HKCBA) to recognize Canadian companies' contribution to the Hong Kong-Canada bilateral trade.

 

2014 promises to be an exciting year for the HKCBA Vancouver Section. We invite you to join us at our events or as a volunteer to celebrate this important milestone with us! Stay tuned for more details on our events and opportunities to get involved with the HKCBA.
