HKCBA's committees are the backbone of our organization - they are vital to HKCBA's planning and overall operations. Under the board of directors' management, the committees implements and coordinates the activities which align with the board's vision and strategic direction.

 

Below are committees which HKCBA Vancouver Section currently has in place.With the exception of the Executive Committee, volunteers do not need to be a board director in order to serve a committee.

 

Vacancies on committees are filled by each committee chair with the consultation and recommendation of HKCBA's Governance Committee. If you are interested in a committee position and would like to be considered, please contact vancouver@hkcba.com.

 

HKCBA Vancouver Committees

 

Communications and Membership Committee

 

This committee helps interpret the strategic vision of the board of directors in terms of communication and members. It is responsible for maintaining a strong voice representing members' interests and identifying ways to improve value of membership with the HKCBA.

 

Executive and Governance Committee

 

The executive committee represents the Board of Directors when the board is not in session. It also oversees the operation of HKCBA and makes recommendations on board policies and governance procedures to ensure they are compliant with the by-laws of the association. Furthermore, this committee is responsible for recruiting suitable candidates for HKCBA Board of Directors and committee chairs. Please note that you have to be a member of HKCBA Vancouver's Board of Directors in order to participate on this committee.

 

Gala Dinner Committee

 

The gala dinner committee oversees the organization and execution of HKCBA's annual fundraising dinner and one of the organization's two signature events. This committee manages the planning, coordination and implementation of the event, develop and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors. It also works actively to engage the Hong Kong-Canada business community in Vancouver and promotes the value of this networking event.

 

Golf Committee

 

This committee oversees the management and the organization of HKCBA's annual golf event. It sets goals and fundraising target based on the Association's financial goals, manages the sponsorship program and promotes engagement within the Hong Kong-Canada business community in Vancouver.

 

NextVancouver Committee

 

This is HKCBA Vancouver's young professional committee responsible for developing a program series that will provide networking and professional development opportunities for young professionals and post-secondary school students.

 

Programs Committee

 

The programs committee manages the content for informative events such as breakfasts, luncheon functions, seminars and social events that are of interest to HKCBA members and the business community.
